The Alabaster Box

This is a box, that's a special kind.

It's holding something precious, that will take you back in time.

There she stood behind him, with it broken in her hand.

No matter what the cost, anointing the master was her plan.

To her knees she fell, with tears that washed his feet.

Wiping them with her hair and a Kiss that was complete.

So anoint them in his name, and call out to the master.

When you take this precious oil, from this box of alabaster.

The breaking of Christ's body for sin is the only sacrifice of salvation, for no sacrifice but that could
take away sin; but the breaking of our hearts for sin is a sacrifice of acknowledgement.

The sacrifice acceptable to God is a broken spirit and a broken and contrite heart.  Psalm 15:17

God over looks Heaven and Earth with favor for a broken and contrite heart.  Isaiah 66:2

This special anointing oil is to be in remembrance of our
Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ

" Spikenard"

As the woman anointed Jesus with spikenard
to prepare Him for burial, this is to remind us He died for all!

" But thanks be to God! For through what Christ has done, he has triumphed over us so that now wherever we go He uses us to tell others about the Lord and to spread the Gospel like a sweet perfume. As far as God is concerned there is a sweet, wholesome fragrance in our lives. It is the fragrance of Christ within us, an aroma to both the saved and the unsaved all around us."
2 Corinthians 2:14,15

" Coriander"

Manna, the Hebrew name given by the Israelites, meant "what is it?" Coriander is an herb that grows to be 2 to 3 ft. tall. The plant produces seed, which are used for flavoring food to this day.

A sample of "the bread " was commanded to be kept to show for future generations of the provision of God in the wilderness. This sample was more than a keepsake, it was.... A sign of the Covenant. Manna nurtured the people and gave life for 40 years. As such, it was a type of Christ. Exodus 16:31-35

A direct correlation can be seen every time the Eucharist is observed and the one officiating

repeats Christ's words, "Take, Eat, this is my body which is broken for you." 1Corinthians 11:24

The wine of the Lord's supper dipicts the giving of life, a sacrifice of blood, which inaugurates the New Covenant for those who respond to Jesus' offer of salvation.

Jesus died on the cross in our place and for our sins. Luke 22:20

"Cedarwood"

A strong sort of wood, sweet, durable, and which will never rot, typifying the firmness
and continuance of the church. The galleries for walking are of fir, wood was pleasing both
to the sight and to the smell, intimating the delight
which the saints take in walking with Christ.
Song of Solomon 1:17

"Rose"

To remind us of beauty and fragrance, to express His presence with
His people in this world, the easiness of their access to Him,
and the beauty and sweetness which they find in Him.
Song of Solomon 2:1

"Grapes"

The first Miracle recorded in the New Testament was when Jesus turned water into wine.
"I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.
He will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father.
And I will do whatever you ask in My name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father."
John 14:12-13

"I am the True Vine" John 15:1

Thank You and May You be Blessed by the Lord, the maker of Heaven and Earth.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.
